After a period of preparation or Pre.Instrument, the child is ready to start his Piano lessons
In said lessons our aim is that students gradually develop the ability to perform an instrument, in a natural way as they learnt to speak their mother tongue The same that occurs with the spoken language, children learn the instrument listening, imitating and repeating the given example by their musical references.
As in the mother tongue, the students begin the instrument learning through the development of the ear, or what is very important that they periodically listen to the CD with Suzuki´s repertoir, which they will learn and fix through daily practice. In this sense, parent´s role is fundamental, as they are the guide of the practice and the ones in charge of creating an atmosphere for the child to develop his abilities. The work together with parents, child and teacher is indispensable to guarantee the success of the learning.
Apart from the individual lessons, the students periodically attend Piano Group lessons. These are necessary because in these, children have the possibility of interacting musically with other children. The game -like atmosphere of group lessons contribute so that children enjoy the musical task, which is necessary to develop their enthusiasm for music. Likewise, through the Kodaly and Dalcroze Workshops, children also may have a group experience of music, developing their musicality and love for music, as well as their ability to work in a team.
Students start the reading of music once they have developed their ear and have reached certain fluency in the performance of the instrument. The knowledge of musical reading is given in the individual and group lessons, where children can fix and enlarge their knowledge in this area.
Through the instrumental practice children also develop other abilities apart from the musical ones: self-esteem: self-discipline; memory; concentration; attention; and the capacity to express themselves and to socialize through music among others. In this way, the musical art becomes principally a way to enrich children´s lives.
